SHELLEY FORT is a Film and Theatermaker based in Los Angeles.

Fort began her work as an actor in New York and regionally (Broadway National Tour, La MaMa, the National Black Theatre, Trinity Rep, The Fire This Time and more)

As a producer, Shelley has experience in creative development (pre-pro, hired cast and crew), film finance (secured funding, created & managed budgets), managed on-set physical production, completed post-pro, and implemented marketing strategies. With a deep knowledge in film and a love of storytelling, her goal is to invest in stories by new filmmakers and create support for artists of color. *an ongoing list of inspiration found here.

Shelley was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and raised in the cornfields of Nebraska. She trained throughout the world; Oxford (British American Drama Academy), St. Petersburg, Russia (Theater Arts Academy), and the National Theater Institute (Eugene O’Neill).

Shelley currently works as a Faculty Artist at Middlebury College throughout the year and at the Bread Loaf School of English in the summer.

She has a Master’s from Brown University, Providence and is a graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio.
